Almost by accident I found myself completing a couple of mini photography projects recently. That focus (no pun intended) and commitment to regularly taking photographs was hugely enjoyable and quite the antidote to lockdown life. So, inspired by a photograph I took in Kyoto in 2013, my Spring project is ‘Blossom’.
In Japan, the viewing of the cherry blossom (or ‘Sakura’) is a popular custom known as Hanami. The blossom itself is seen as a symbol of hope, beauty and the transience of life. If I can capture just a little bit of that, I’ll be very happy.
