Long periods of lockdown and other restrictions over the past year means, like many, I've not taken as many photographs. A new camera at the start of 2020 made it even more frustrating. And if I'm honest it was that frustration that led me to pick up my camera and head to a local bird reserve. I really admire the work of many wildlife photographers, it's just not what I tend to shoot. But I'd had a good tip-off for murmurations and, never having seen one let alone photographed one, I headed over for sunset. I wasn't disappointed. So much so I went back every night for a week. I had incredible sunsets, pouring rain and everything inbetween. And starlings. Lots of starlings! I may have found a new obsession.
